Wo By Ras Kuuku- Ghanaian Reggae Music Video

in #palnetlast year

I'm going local with this one. One of my favourite reggae songs in Ghana is this one titled WO by Ras Kuuku. In Ghana, Rastafarian or people with dreadlocks are often seen as social misfits. With a culture that encourages low haircuts, anyone with something different turns to stand out and you have to do you own business if you want to grow your hair.

Ras Kuuku is one of the few reggae artists who are pushing through this stereotype. He received the Best Reggae Artiste of the Year at the BASS Awards in 2014. This song from him is a thanksgiving song to Jah for all His goodness over his life and protection from his enemies. The song was a hit here in Ghana and is still one of the top reggae songs currently. You might not understand the lyrics, but I do hope you enjoy it.

I think Rastafarian are worldwide not seen as the upper class.

I doubt it has to do with the hairdress, more with attitude or the association people have with Rastafarians x certain behaviour.

Hope you enjoy your holiday time 💕

They are known to be peaceful so I don't really know how the world views them that way.

My holiday is alright so far, thanks for your comment

Hey bro thanks for sharing this. I never heard of him. I knew Ghana had Reggae Dancehall vibes but this is good info to see who run tings in the regga scene there.

A lot of the old artists have moved away as Ghana doesn’t appreciate reggae much so he’s the new guy making it
